Jimmy Buffett and his second wife, Jane Slagsvol, were married in 1977.
The couple met in Key West, Florida, after Jane visited during spring break.
Jimmy had moved to Key West after divorcing his first wife, Margie Washichek.
According to TIME, the pair briefly broke up in the early 1980s.
Jane left five years into their marriage after the partying lifestyle had become too much for her.
Jane said: “I’d been with Jimmy since I was a child, through the craziest times, and I didn’t have a clue who I was, so I left.
“I got sober.”
The couple reconciled in 1991 and stayed together until Jimmy’s death in September 2023.
The pair kept their relationship out of the public eye, except when Jane would accompany Jimmy to several red carpet events, including various Margaritaville grand openings.
Jane helped improve Jimmy’s Coral Reefer band’s look, according to his biography.

The series gained hundreds of thousands of views with more than 10,000 tracks requested after the popular musician asked his fans to tell him which songs they’d like to hear.
Jimmy and Jane also adopted a son, Cameron Marley, born in 1994.
Unlike his sisters, Cameron has kept out of the public eye.
According to his Instagram page, he is married and passionate about exploring and travelling.
